Mike Engel is a nationally-renowned journalist and host of the immensely popular Gotham Cable News show Gotham Tonight. He is known for "high-profile, high-drama reporting" and was publicly against the idea of Batman and vigilantism in general. That is, until Batman personally rescued him from the Joker's culminating hostage incident.
