Why We Fight
June 2, 2008, 5:15pm
I've been patrolling my neighborhood for several weeks now. I've seen crime happen in front of me. It's obvious City Hall doesn't care, so why should we? I think that's an important question to answer before we set out to DO SOMETHING about crime in Gotham. The answer might be different for each of us. For me, I want to fight because I lost my sister to violent crime. She was attacked and brutally assaulted when she was leaving a group of friends at a restaurant early one Sunday night. Someone was waiting for her by her car. She screamed and yelled "fire," but no one came to help. Unlike many victims, she went to the police, but they didn't do anything. They gave her the runaround for months until she found her own peace. I fight for my sister. I fight so bad things don't happen again to anyone. I fight because the police won't. I fight to take back the city I used to be proud to call home.
Because this is America and we do what's right.
I think LostNFound said it best. Not sure I could add anything.
It sounds like this is the right place to be. I'm glad I found you guys here. I fight because I believe in doing what's right. Not only is it right to take control over our lives, it's right to help Batman. He can't do it all alone. He's showing us the way. All we need to do is follow.
Remember me? WWBD banned me from the CFB forum. To hell with those guys, right? This is where the real action's at.
Welcome, Batty. There hasn't been any action yet, but we're working on it.
We're going to need more people.
I think others are going to follow. If they can find us.
If they really want to fight for Gotham, they'll find us.
Hiding in Plain Site
June 7, 2008, 9:18am
We can't all vanish from the CFB forums. We should all continue to post there.
We might be able to get some of them to follow us.
We need ot be careful. We don't want any moles here.
Just post there like you normally do.
Hello?
Look what the "bat" dragged in.
So we're actually going to hit the streets?
That's the plan.
about time.
Yo
Great
Yes I am.
So what do we do now?
Good question
Best Organization Structure?
June 9, 2008, 6:03pm
I've been thinking about how to get our group off the ground. The first thing we should do is get organized. We can't be a collective of loose cannons if this is going to work. We have to do this together, as a real unit.
Who put you in charge?
I'm just saying.
No one put anyone in charge. But someone is going to have to step up and help guide the group or we'll be chasing our tails for weeks. Mob wisdom is and oxymoron if you ask me.
Oxy what? Isn't that some kind of drug?
Look it up.
Oh. I get it.
Can I come over and play?
The more the merrier...just keep a low profile.
Call me a snake in the grass ;)
So who here has any experience in fighting crime?
We do have a bunch of guys in the GPD. They're angry about crime too. I mean look at Brian, he's GPD.
He's neer really told us what exactly he does. I don't trust him.
He's a good guy. He means well. I don't think he'll join us though, not after he made all those statements to the press about "purging" CFB of radicals. Can you picture him here? "Look ma, no hands. I joined the radicals after all!"
Wouldn't that make him the perfect leader for us? No one would suspect a thing!
It's a mute point. He's not with us, is he?
Then what do we do?
We go in circles just like this.
Baby Steps
June 12, 2008, 10:10pm
You can't go wrong with baby steps. Whatever we do first, should be small. What about breaking up drug deals in parks during the day? If we go in groups, it shouldn't be too dangerous. We can build to larger things as we get more experience.
Greatness never came from thinking small
But no one ever got killed that way, either.
Sounds like our grrrrrrrrrlfriend is getting cold feet.
Caution does not = cold feet.
I still say we need more people.
Who are you?
I joined CFB a few weeks back. I am the king of Gotham Pizza, at least that's what my Mom calls me.
Do you have fried eggplant pizza?
We're working on it.
I've already taken my baby steps.
What do you mean special delivery? People are coming?
PizzaPaul has something up his sleeve?
Welcome New Members
June 18, 2008, 2:12pm
I'd like to be the first to welcome all the new members who heard the call and found the board. Now let's get out there and clean up our street.
I understand certain people got some tasty pies, ey?
It's about time people got together instead of sitting around twiddling thumbs.
I for one am sick of twiddling.
So what do we do now?
First, you keep your mouths shut. This group and this board must remain top secret. If you look over at the CFB forum, you'll see that the police are still interested in them. We want things to stay that way. Let them look over Brian's group all they want. They won't find anything but a bunch of losers wasting their time.
I think we need a secret handshake or symbol so we can identify ourselves to each other in the streets.
Let's not waste our times with that stuff. Next time we get together, we need to decide what are first mission is and how to make it happen.
Hi. Just found this board. I think you're all onto something. Brian let CFB become just a bunch of complainers. I want to play with the big boys.
Welcome Sid_Bat. Good to see you here.
Hey. I'm here, too. And ready to kick some butt.
All I know is I don't feel safe going out anymore and the police won't do anything about it. I want to give these hooligans what for.
Rockingranny, are you single?
Your place or mine?
First Mission
June 21, 2008, 12:15am
We were talking before about some kind of baby steps. People here were worried we didn't have enough members to get started, but now we do. Let's get back to taking that step.
Agreed.
Me too. I think we have enough members now to start taking action.
yeah yeah yeah
I've been researching crime stats at Gotham parks. Harlow Park has a lot of dealing going on and it's central and surrounded by OK neighborhoods. I think we should start there.
Tools We Need
June 25, 2008, 10:34am
Before we go any further, let's make a list of the tools we'll need.
Like weapons and stuff?
Maybe.
I can ask the guys at the firing range what they recommend.
When are you going again? I want to come too. Maybe we all should go.
I have a shotgun
You are too hot
We're getting guns now? I don't know...
What did you think we'd use?
Our brains.
You can't jurt someone with your brains. Maybe you can with your looks.
That was uncalled for.
Forget him. Let him "jurt" himself.
handguns, rope, zip lines, protective gear (hockey pads?), handcuffs
A cattle prod would be boss.
Don't forget tasers.
Let's slow down. Remember, I used to teach self defense. I think we should start there. I can give everyone lessons in my garage. I have mats and equipment
Taking A Stand
June 27, 2008, 11:02pm
No way!
welcome home, Brian
It's about damn time
Who the hell are you?
He's the dude who founded CFB
Looks like there's a lot of new people here. Thank you all for the warm welcome.
You sold us out. That's okay, Gotham sold out Batman. He's still out there. So are we.
I don't trust him
Neither do I.
I made the decision I did because I thought it was more important to keep the group safe. But I was watching GCN the other night and caught this story about this kid named Tim Otis. If you didn't see the piece, the kid took a dose of ecstacy or something but it was laced with fear toxin. He went out of his mind and is going to live the rest of his life in a personal hell. He's not alone. That's when I knew that action was more important than words. So please, if you believe in the mission, let's put bad blood behind us and let me join you. Together for Batman. What do you guys think?
You're okay with me BriDog
Same here.
Ain't one of us here who hasn't screwed up sometime BriDog. Just happy that you saw the light.
Thanks guys. If you want, we could set up an action, a little one, to get our sealegs. Let's start by targeting the drug trade. Harlow seems like a good place to start as any.
All in favor of starting in Harlow?
yeah, at least we're out on the street, doing something instead of just sitting on our hands.
ay ay
me too
hellz yeah
it's the right thing thing to do and the right way to do it
I'm in too
Let's kick some butt
I'm so there
Brian has to prove he's not a mole first. sorry
moles don't order sausage and mushrooms. I checked his order records. They order plain cheese. Never trust a man who just orders plain cheese.
Found the Reup
June 30, 2008, 5:10pm
My source says the corner of 10th Avenue and 19th Street by Harlow Park serves as a reup location. If we really want to make a mark, we should hit that corner and hit it hard. It will cut off the supply for the rest of the dealers in the area.
I know the spot. Brian's right. Bunch of gang bangers hang out there. I see them from the bus all the time.
It won't cut off the supply for the dealers in the area. It will shut down one corner for one night.
One night is better than no nights. They aint gonna be there much longer.
Aren't they going to have guns? What are we gonna do? Bore them to death?
I think I can get us some walkie-talkies. I might be able to get my hands on some kind of wire, too. I'll see what I can do.
We definitely need guns. These morons don't mess around. We shouldn't either.
Have I taught you all nothing? There's more of us than them. We can take them if we plan right.
This is exciting
It's not supposed to be "exciting." We're dealing with real criminals here. This is a responsibility. This isn't for fun.
Executive Decsion. Secret meeting at 20:15 where the stones don't grow. We need to plan details. Everyone should come. It's NOW OR NEVER GUYS! LIVE YOUR DREAMS!
I'm there
Me too.
See everyone there
Action Plan
June 30, 2008, 10:14pm
It was great to see everyone there. With that kind of energy, we can do anything. So, let's see ? action plan. OK, like I said, everyone should know what they're doing tomorrow. I've just been informed that DarkMatter is grounded because he snuck out of the house, so he'll be posting updates to this forum for those of you who aren't participating.
All parents are lame. Especially my mom.
I'm heading over to the firing range with BigEd later tonight if anyone wants to go.
We agreed on no firearms.
Pantywaists
Cool.
Watch it. She's old and doesn't know what she's saying.
Yes I do!
I'll see the ones participating tomorrow night at the pre-meet dinner at CaCa's Diner.
You can use the onion blossom as a weapon. It's deadly.
Mission Underway
July 1, 2008, 11:15pm
Just heard from Brian. They're leaving the restaurant now and heading over to Harlow.
Which route do you think they'll take?
Probably the Orange Line. CaCa's is near the Good St. station and they can get off right near the park .
Paul just called. They're off the train and walking over to the corner.
Hang onto your hats kids.
On no!
What's happening?
Can we stay focused on this.
This just in... SmokinJoe is down. More when I find out.
What happened? Is he OK?
Not looking good. He got cut with a knife. Ns18 is taking him to the hospital now.
Apparently, SmokinJoe pulled his knife in self defense and cut himself. The guy thought it was so funny he didn't do anything but laugh and run away.
What else? I can't take it.
Hang on... on the phone with Indigo.
They got the main guy! Brian got him! The runners got away, but BriDog is totally the man. BigEd tied him to a tree just like Batman and they blew out of there before the cops came.
Freakin' awesome
Complete and Total Success
July 2, 2008, 1:13am
First off, and most importantly, SmokinJoe is fine. Just a scratch. The knife was dull. Secondly, I want to thank everyone who was there when it all went down for your uncompromising bravery in standing up to crime. Lastly, I consider the bust a complete and total success. The three runners got away, but we got the guy controlling the stash.
You were awesome, Brian!
What happened?
Everyone was great. We got there and surrounded four people. Three of them were running drugs into the park and the other was controlling their stash. The runners bolted and SmokinJoe tried to take one down. I guess you heard what happened. They got away but we managed to capture the leader.
Brian's being modest.
The main guy took off and Brian chased him down and tackled him to the ground. Rockingranny beat the guy with her cane until BigEd wrestled him over to a tree and go him tied up and ready to be served to the cops.
I knew it would go well. I can't wait for the next mission. Back to Harlow or someplace else?
We're gonna keep on getting bigger. July 8th, you'll see how big we can get!
Our special show has gone absolutely foobar! Check my post on the public forum. We can still pull it off, but we're gonna need all the help we can get.
Operation Intervention
July 6, 2008, 8:20pm
File this under Top Secret. A source tipped me off to a major drug deal going down on Wednesday night. It's very bad people, very high up, and they're making a very big deal. This could be the one action that makes everyone take us seriously. This is huge.
It sounds like you're going it alone.
We need to be selective. This could be very dangerous.
My middle name.
Shove it. Your middle name is Abe, knife boy. What's the story?
It's taking place in the warehouse district. I have the exact location and time. I want Joe, Batty, and Indigo with me.
That's not fair. I'm going too.
It's too risky. A smaller group is more maneuverable. Trust me, these are classic tactics. We need to walk between the rain drops on this one.
"Operation Rain Drop." I have a good feeling about this.
Everything's in place for tonight. Wish us luck.
What Happened?
July 10, 2008, 12:53am
Where is everyone? What happened at the bust?
It was bad.
????
Batty's in the hospital. She took a bullet in her leg.
Batty got shot? Cool.
No. It's not cool. she should be ok, but she'll never walk the same again. But he got off easy. A Gotham cop didn't do so well.
Come on. Details.
We got there. There were more of them then we thought. They were heavily armed. I knew we should have brought some heavier stuff.
It could have been worse.
But what happened? What's going on, Brian?
I don't know, OK! I can't sort it all out yet.
A Few Words for Glenn
July 10, 2008, 9:03am
I don't really know how to say this. You guys didn't know him, but I did. Officer Glenn Barhyte - the man who fought by our side last night - passed away at the hospital. Glenn treated me like a person. Like a brother.. And last night, I couldn't save him. He gave his life to save mine. That's what brothers on the force do. Now he's gone. Was it worth it? I don't know what else to say. Glenn Barhyte, you are a man of honor and loyalty. I will try forever to live up to your example, and to avenge your killing.
Call me if you need to talk, Brian.
We're here.
You're not alone.
Moving Forward
July 10, 2008, 9:36am
So what are we going to do next? Are we done?
We're not done.
I dropped a GPS/wire unit on one of the cars at the warehouse last night.. As it was speeding by. I'll know where their next deal is going down. We will succeed this time, for Glenn. And I've got a new idea, one that will strike fear into the hearts of the enemy.
I will be by your side
I understand if people are scared, but I'm going to do it. Glenn did not die in vain
Leads
As noted in the threads, the members of the underground were essentially impotent and leaderless until CFB founder Brian Douglass, frustrated after losing his chance to take the GPD recruiting exam, joined the group. Unfortunately, he overstated his police qualifications while using his GPD connections to make their dangerous missions possible, leading to tragedy.
